Had the front tyres changed this morning so i have Uniroyal Rainsport 3 all round. The old falkens still had about 3mm left but in this weather they were awful. I have also received the V5 today and my refund cheque for the S2k, so i can start the process of getting my numberplate on my new car :)

TGM have a good reputation for a reason, I've used them for 2 years now. Booking can sometimes be a few days/weeks ahead so get it booked in :)

New OEM discs and pads are now sat under my desk at work. I wanted to have them waiting, so I can abuse the current ones and learn more about my new tyres and get them swapped in mid June so I get chance to bed them in nicely for a trackday in July.

Decided to order now Honda discs and pads all round this morning for the S2k. If all goes to plan and I still have some money towards mid June I'm hoping to book another track day :)

have a look at where your b-pipe joins the backbox, mine has corroded on one side so the bolt that has the spring on it rattles as it has nothing to hold against. the exhaust doesn't move as there is a hanger almost directly above it

Another S2k update 4 new tyres fitted today, went for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2. Decided to get 225 on the front as i wanted a little more front end grip but i don't want to change the suspension as i use the car as my daily. Mileage is now just over 51k

have you checked the tyre pressures? Also what make of tyres and how much life left in them?

Is that on the front? It looks like the wishbone, which has a couple of rubber bushes and a ball joint on it. Generally speaking unless the bush or ball joint is knackered they are just lumps of metal so should be fine. Edit as it looks like right after looking at the link...

Nice 2 day round trip to Cumbria for work. 700miles and the car was great as always, managed to drive the road next to lake Windermere and also the Kirkstone Pass. Still amazes me how comfortable it is on a long run but get to twisty roads and it comes alive.

Dont rush into buying and also drive as many as you can to get a feeling what what several different cars are like I got mine at 70k its now at 95k, it didnt have the book stamped as his mechanic serviced it, but the car felt good and it checked out ok against the checklist :)

a mate bought one new in 2006, they are nice for what they are, sound good and with launch control I managed 5.5 to 60 which I can't get anywhere near in my ep3 so stick to the twisties for a comfortable daily car I would have one but on track a ctr is the one I would choose

i have no idea whats next for power but don't waste money tuning it n/a if you want forced induction long term. i wasted a few thousand tuning my mini when that could have meant me charging it sooner and not having to remove some of the things i did like shorter ratio final drive etc

depends on if any water got into the cylinders, obviously water doesn't compressed so things bend

dont run the engine, get it recovered to a garage you know/trust/or recommended from here or take the head off if your handy with spanners and see whats been bent

something i hadn't thought about was how much i was actually putting in, it was less than i was used to. I filled up this morning after the light came on and it only took 40litres, so that would explain the lack of miles as there is still quite alot of fuel left.

the type r is my e39 m5 replacement which averaged 19mpg, so not concerned about it as my fuel bill has halved, more interested :)

As said, try to drive at a constant speed on flat ground and see the difference, it won't be exact but better than the speedo which must overread as manufacturers aren't allowed for any to under-read

I record all my fuel for tax refunds, it hasn't been a full tank on the motorway yet but I was expecting a bit more from about 3/4 of a tank I have used on a run. I was more asking about cruising speed so I don't risk long term damage as I plan on track days at some point
