    DC2 DB8 DC5 Integra dc2 vs civic ep3

I had an EP3 for 6 years and loved every second. I was always under the impression that the DC2 was the slightly better car however. I often thought about changing. I am informed that the DC2 was the fastest FF car round the ring for 10 years. (only to be beaten by the RS Megane which had...

Stereo Harness - Live Wire question

I am putting in my Pioneer head unit. Live wire on the harness is only connected at one end. Can I simply connect it next to/adjacent to the negative wire and use the constant live feed? (I always remove the fascia out of habit) Will I run risk of flattening battery or fire? All other head...

EP3 Dumb question alert.. Factory shock absorbers

KYB do shocks for the EP3. I had 2 pairs in the 6 years I had mine. 1st set, great. 2nd set, just OK. Think they were 75 a side. I bought KYB top mounts and they were absolute garbage. Bilstein also do front shocks and I believe they are decent. As for top mounts, maybe just go to Honda mate.

    BC Coilovers

Hi, Anyone had any experience with these? I was thinking of putting a set on my EP3 which is used as a daily... what is their longevity like? Will they be up to the job for a good couple of years? or will they fall to bits in 6 months? I appreciate the ride will be firmer, that doesnt bother...

Should I do the timing chain on my EP3?

Mines on 156000 now. Still on original timing chain. I've read on here and elsewhere that Honda say its good for the life of the car. I don't nail it everywhere though to be fair. I don't believe everything I read on the net but I'll take my chances with this one.

    new keyfob

If its just the casing, I got a replacement one off ebay and replaced the internals - there was no issue with the function, I just damaged the fob when I came off my longboard. To replace a faulty one, I would call some local lads who specialize in ECU's/immob's etc and see what they recommend.

1st to 2nd crunch in low revs

I believe its a good idea to replace the front and rear sensors at the same time. Only purchase Denso or NTK brands as others may not kill the light. I've had a P0141 code for about 2 months now but it went off the other day and hasnt come back on... winner.

EP3 Just bought an '03 EP3 Type R and WOW

Couldnt agree more. Cars get more and more "disconnected" as time goes by. I wouldnt even entertain a brand new car in my price range. Love hearing about peoples new experiences of a CTR. Surprised by my MPG!

I've done 180 odd miles on APPROXIMATELY half a tank. Some of you may think I am talking porkies. It was the most boring journey as it was all motorway at 55mph in the middle of the night. It was a voluntary full saving exercise en route to Cornwall, just to see what I could achieve.

Genuine question here on Sump Smashing - is it easy to save the engine? I guess as soon as the Oil light comes on you kill the ignition if you haven't already done so? I suppose the oil circulating the motor won't escape as quickly as the oil in the sump thus buying you some time.... Awesome...

    Hole in engine bay!!

Ive had a K&N Typhoon for about 5 years. Driven long distance in severe wet weather on occassions. No problems. Google image search this filter and see if yours sits in the same location. As for the AEMS etc, you'd have to read up on them but I think they are usually OK.
  46. E

    Hole in engine bay!!

Nope. Thats by design that mate, they are all like that. Well, all the ones Ive seen. Some filters like AEM sit right down in that hole - great for track but not so good for dailys as they can be prone to contributing to hydro-lock in severe wet weather.

Front Compliance bushes and ball joints

P0141 after filling up with Super...

Fair do's. I think you should be allowed to offset pollution saving methods with other options. I'd happily get rid of this emissions nonsense and have a straight through - in place for some solar panels on the top of my house. Expensive but better. :-)
  61. E

P0141 after filling up with Super...

Put Super in my EP3 the other day, just as a treat. I usually always fill up with normal unleaded...(Shell) ECU has thrown up P0141 code which is a fault with the rear lambda sensor on the cat - anyone else experienced this with super unleaded? I suspect it is more than likely a co-incidence...

FN2 Just purchased a type r ahead of a scirocco was this a good deal?

I'm astounded every time at how mine still revs and will quite happily go to the redline (not the limiter) to keep me in VTEC for the next gear - all at over 150,000 miles with no knocking or other issues. Still pulls like a train. Did 208bhp on the rollers with 140,000 on the clock last year.

Are clutch master cylinders a common fault?

When I got my EP3 - 5 years ago, the clutch bite point was almost on the floor. Felt strange at first. I did about 60,000 miles before changing the clutch. Bite point was more normal with a new clutch. All I can advise is in the meantime make sure you put the pedal hard to the floor when...
