Exactly, that's what I thought! Anybody elase heard of this one, or enquired about it? If you've not checked with your dealer and had the g/box oil changed recently you may have had 10w-40 semi synth engine oil put in your car. I'm sure it'll be fine, but I'd imagine it'll breakdown quicker...

A little update; I've since spoken to another dealership who told me the same thing. Obviously I queried this, but it seems as though Honda have stopped making/using MTF fluid and just use 10w 40 engine oil.

I'd agree if it was a stock car. Problem being though when you've spent so much money in modifying it, you're gonna lose out big time. Heavily modified cars, unless on an agreed value insurance policy, are always better off being found IMO. If you have a change of heart once you've got it...

Checked over it this weekend; -Slave cylinder seems fine, no visible leaks. -Inspection plate off and the clutch/flywheel appear dry (to try rule out an oil leak). Flushed through some DOT 4 fluid and topped up the resevoir (was midway between min and max).... But, it's still slipping...

My damn Toda clutch has started slipping, strangely though it only really seems to do it when the cars at lower revs (c. 2-3k) and you put your foot down. Bangi it through the gears and it's as positive as ever. Thinking about it the pedal seems high also. The bloody things only been on for...

As fire said, unless you made it on the same dyno, it's not comparable. If it was on the TDi North Dyno for example (as mine was), I think everyone agrees that it reads over that of CPL's.

Harv says yes. I'm not sure I'd be prepared to guarantee a 'yes'. Ask Paul at System-R/TDi North when your there if it's really 100% worry free to run it like that.

They also designed the engine...But I run Silkolene PRO in mine and rate it better than the Honda supplied oil. From what I've heard though, the Honda MTF III is top drawer stuff. Is it still the best stuff if you have an LSD though? That's one thing thats crossed my mind. Or are others more...

What else have you got breathing wise? There's plenty of people who happily run a Cat back system and CAI without adding a Hondata. If you also have a Manifold/decat then it'd be KPRO time as a neccesity really. Hondata also do a reflash on your ECO and K100 which are cheaper than the UK...

Yeah that's true, it's gone down from a 24.3" rotation to a 23.5" rotation according to a online converter. So it's putting more miles on my car and over reading on the speedo :( . It's out by 3.3% by my reconing. But I like the price for one, and the smaller sidewall aesthetically... So...

Well I've had My Injen HydroShield on for a little while now. Performance wise... It feels to strangle revs at the top end a little, but I don't really go mad in winter. I might VTEC it from 4500 to 6000, but that's about it. As for dong what it says... I've driven in some appaling rain...

Is the car 'sat' wrong? Looking like it's leaning? Have a look under the dust cover on the damper to see if the seals have gone (leaking oil). Also, shove down on the top of your wing, to rock the car a bit, the car should settle down niceley after you stop. If not, prob a knackered damper...

I don't think it does on the 'old skool' VTEC's, like yours. It rely's more on the engine temp, oil pressure, engine speed etc. to fathom out when the engine's VTEC worthy! :D Where as the i-VTEC's makes use of the parameters like throttle position, engine speed, engine temp etc. to control...

That's true to an extent, but they both have different ideal bedding in requirements. The ideal, I've been told, is to change the discs and do 20+ run downs using light braking from 50-60mph down to 20-30mph, on your old (but crucially, still okay) pads. Allowing the disc to cool between...

If you can help it, avoid changing the discs and pads at the same time...You'll be able to bed them both in properly then. Chances are though, with raod cars, if one's fooked so is the other!

I agree with Hasnic. The Silkolene Pro is a fully synthetic oil, which is superior to semi sythetic oil. I have tended to stick with Hondas MTF oil for the gearbox, and being a front wheel drive car your LSD is in the gearbox and uses whatever oil is in there.

Yeah, they can be pretty tricky to get to, I didn't bother using the Honda wheel brace. Try a deep socket, small extension bar and ratchet. If it's still rubbing see if you have any thin wall sockets lying around. :wink:

There's a stage 4 kit on their website which is quoted at 700bhp!!! Hopefully we'll see Paul leaving this figure behind fairly soon! :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

I've got 18" Rota subzeros on, but decided to go for the 215/35/18 Toyo Proxes T1-R's rather than the 225's. :wink: Before that I was running 215/35/19's with no rubbing issues either. On both these sets of alloy's I'm running Spoon Sports springs, and with the Subzero's I'm using a 5mm...

It's a buyers market out there, you can't fail to find a belting example of a Civic R. Don't be put off by people selling up, the majority seem to be selling to either fund a house or make the natural progression to a DC5 Integra (you might want to consider one of these, will be less affected...
