really loving s2k's atm... been keeping my eye on the us forums for a while now! they spend crazy money on them! i didnt realise i'd missed this thread up until now. be keeping an eye on it regular to check your updates. deffo heading in the right direction anyway ;)

Just a quicky.... iv had a search but not found anything in stone does the standard onut gasket fit? or is it a larger size i need due to slightly bigger pipe diameter? waiting to fit but dont wanna take my oem system off to find i need to drive and find a gasket. so any help...

probably the same as a JDM EP3 with no fluids in ;) haaa. i thought you mighta known for sure julian. what did you manage to get yours down to in the end??

ah majority of sources do quote 1204kg though. i'm only going of that. dunno if anyone could find official figures?? just couldnt possibly see how that site quotes the JDM as being 80 odd kg lighter? for what? think the JDM weight is about right. (by all other sources).

Is you uk ep3 weight correct? I think think the official weight was around the EVO figure quoted above?? 1204kg? Cant understand where the JDM loses about 80kg when its exactly the same :s... Maybe its the thinner CW paintwork?? I know the DC5 is slighlty lighter around 1170 or something...

just out of interest how much did they cost?

Narr this was on UK spec cars (facelift having lighter flywheel). JDM spec have the same engine with same flywheel regardless.

if your getting picky im pretty sure its 216ps equal to about 212bhp? correct me if im wrong though. oh and yerr a facelift JDM is basically a premier edition (the same as preface is same as 30th anniversary) with the lsd and engine spec. oh and champ white colour option. oh and all JDM...

I know iv already spent hundreds on basic washing gear already! Foam. Clays. Towels. Sealants. Etc.. But my new shopping list is well into the hundreds already! Gonna have to wait til next month! Insurance renewal came through yesterday :/.. Mods and washing luxuries will have to go on hold :(..

ive seen the ES ones.... seem to be the only reasonably priced ones available from what little digging i did when looking into them. mugen do them but theyre pure $$. G do you know what the ES kit includes? is it pretty much a complete front and rear set? also anybody feel free to link up any...

the only thing is.... you come home with a massive shopping list to keep on top of it! the waters just sits up on the paintwork n beads off :cool:! before it just used to absorb it :rolleyes:.

tweats before you rush off and buy new struts etc... i noticed mine and spoke to a few people also whos EP3s sit like this. now 1 person bought a brand new strut from honda and it made no difference what so ever. i fitted my springs and still had the difference just a bit lower down. and couple...

miles too low for spoon springs!! unless theyve had a coil chopped off :confused:. iv had mine fitted a while now and it sits pretty much the same as dottys if not a tad lower. but nowhere near these. still very nice looking EP3. id go as far to say pretty much perfect :cool:...

anybody know wether DC5 spoon rails will fit an EP3 with recaros? *** know they'l bolt to the recaros fine its just the floor fixings. i'm sure iv heard they do but with minor mods for the 4th hole?? anyone confirm or not? cheers.

iirc correctly stoptechs use porsche fitment for there pads. would be easier just to use a kit designed to actually fit the car in the first place, and probably alot cheaper taking custom fabrication into consideration. don't think you'l need much more stopping power than a set of them tbh.

B-pipe will get more gains than a backbox (minimal as it is but :lol:) and no real increase in noise levels for track like you say.

did mine the other week. shook big bits of debris off like leaves n that. then rinsed from inside out with tap water. then used the cleaning part out of the recharge kit.... left it a day then oiled the next day. (just because it wasnt going on the car straight away, probs get away with an hour...

oh yeh and hes usually booked up for a few months in advance so be prepared to get a slot :cool:

what hov said. i wouldnt take mine anywhere else again.... i dont think theres anything chris doesnt know about car suspension set ups. and his eye for detail is horrendous!! OCD i reckon ;). transformed my car just with standard dampers and spoon springs. turns in so well, feels nimble and...

spoon springs FTW. i fitted them on standard dampers a few months back and treated it to a visit to centre of gravity at the weekend (after settled and bedded springs in properly). its unreal how much chris's set up has changed my car (ask hovblack or murph as witnesses). i didnt actually think...

Yes.

Dc gains would be very similar. (same as most catbacks tbh). theres no way the piper system would add 22bhp. MAYBE with their mani + decat and a full map. but still alot for an exhaust tbh. the DC system does look very well built and sounds nice too. i'm abit unsure on the buddy club looks...

£81 is about cheapest you'll get ds2500's i reckon. Been looking myself recently.

DC5 just for a more focused car all round.... BUT not at your age. i would like see a DC5 insurance quote if your getting £2400 on an FN2. yess the FN2 has the creature comforts and is very nice to look at. but it seems to sway away abit from the idea of a typr R in my opinion.

£20+vat. but that was for both sides. they reckoned they didnt seperate them so had to take both (still half hondas price for just the one side!). they had another few ep3s breaking so give them a bell. oh and if anyone wants a drives side scuttle drop me a PM :lol:

can recommend the spoons, as i fitted them to mine. but as hasnic said either them or alot of people use the eibach pro's. both very similar. not harsh at all and a nice subtle drop. not impractically slammed and rock hard like some others.

can anyone confirm if a dc5 rear anti roll bar the same as the JDM spec ep3??

think thats what most people waiting for. although murph says TDi fitted one to a dc5 and they said the gains were equal with your usual gruppeM gains. seems like a good cold air feed from directly behind the grill with a decent scoop direction the air into the box itself etc....

yerr was going to say i upgraded hoses and fluid which improved braking alot, jus waiting to get paid for a set of ds2500's aswell. with standard calipers i mean. i just didnt know how much an actual improvement spoons were seen as they use oem sized disks etc. i thought main improvement was...

maybe not the number off the production exactly but must have some relevance to the age of the car by looking at everyones number and year of car. mines 2003 and 19000 odd.

my interior pretty similar to nicks (minus the dc5 pedals and AE recaros not premier ones) jdm mats are a must, starter button is :cool: (pricey i payed same as nick £50 inc carbon surround) but i still use mine even after 6 months, kinda habit now :lol:. next on my shopping list interior wise...

some nice mods there...... somebody liked there spoon bits n pieces by looks of it :eek: sort that rear tie bar out though ;)

when i fitted my spoon one i jus used std bolts again. pretty sure thats all people use tbh.

surely all springs would rust if the coating has flaked off? its bare metal so couldnt see how they wouldnt if left unprotected.

i wasnt saying what he had made was bad (far from it tbh, ive seen much much worse), jus think id prefer the OEM one that is all.

i usually check mine 15-30 mins after a drive, every few eeks to keep my eye on it. my engine doesnt seem to use much at all though, considering people say how the k20s use alot!

another vote for removing that cover! doesnt really do anything except hide you nice cam cover. plus remove badge from brace too imo..... what brace is that btw??

yer the tein springs seem the same, sit nice on the front but not quite the same at the back a bit higher : /. think i'l go for the spoons but theyre stupid money at the minute. for price of them may aswell save bit more and get some superstreets or something :mad:

was thinking of spoon or eibachs for mine. both seem very well recomended by tdi and tgm etc. dotty you know which are lower once fitted? out of two you mention i mean. i know they quote around 20mm but how many manufacturers are accurate with these, can be totally different once on car and...
