A call from the garage has confirmed what i already knew... Its not a split hose, its a fooked intake manifold :-( The real pain in the ass is i think i might have caused it when i swapped the cooling fans over :-( 6hr Labour so far... This will be a big bill!

It is a resistor problem, but the resistor is in the fan motor housing itself, so for a 5p resistor failing you have to replace the fan... God bless the Germans! Cant recommend the EBC pads enough, squealed like a bugger for 150 miles and now have bedded in well and can take a real hammering :-)

2 things, 1, the tyres i got from quick fit, so your local one should do the same deal. and 2, dont use VW fans, they fail over and over again, euro car parts pattern ones are cheaper £170 a pair and have so far lasted well on R32s ;-)

Been running some Dunlops, Noisy, Some grip when cold, but trails off when hot. Dont offer enough grip to justify the few miles they have lasted. Been looking at cheap ass Kumhos £200 for 4 or going for something along the lines of Yokos. Any suggestions?

It's the torque moving the engine on the mounts, the engine is attached to the gearbox, thus the linkage is moved causing it to jump out of gear. Just as a side note, driveshafts, clutch and any number of other components won't last long if you dump the clutch at 4k rpm ;)

Yeah, don't worry mate, i suspect the only "real" difference you will notice will be how they look ;) As long as they are on lower profile tyres and retain the same outside diameter then at worst it will be ride quality that is lessened.

Ok, what can i do to remove wax from black trim? Whenever i bloody wax the car i always end up with a shiny car spoilt by little white wax marks on the trim where i have polised over the join. Help!

Just worth a mention... Ive got Continental Sport Contact 3 tyres on the Clio and the are bloomin brilliant in the wet... Not had a chance to try them in 100% dry conditions, but they could be worth a look for anyone wanting some winter rubber!

Take wheels off, jet wash them and then WD40 on a rag ;) good for 5 or 6 washes of the car before you need to repeat to prevent the dust sticking 8)

Basically the bugger is Ammonia is the best stuff to clean up dry blood, but you reeeeeeeallly dont want an ammonia solution on your paintwork, might i suggest an off the wall approach and say try paper towel with a 10parts ater 1 part bleach solution followed by a good rinse and wax.

only 1 thing i would argue with is the brakes comment... MK5 has really good brakes and the CTRS melt after 5mins of hard use :P
