Yes,, I needed disks and pads on rear.....front pads on the front..all at 25k

I have had minejust over 2 years after having an EP3 for 2 years previously. The new one can be an expensive thng to run... I have done 37k, on my 4th set of tyres (130each), and on my 2nd set of pads all round and rear disks. dont believe the mpg computer either, it is teasing you into...

I just had a 37k service..they did a report on the bodywork. EVERY panel has multiple stone chips including doors.....it really is a pice of sh1.t when it comes to the paint. The Mrs does the same trip to work as me....she has a golf the same age...and not a mark on it.

my reear discs were knackered at 25k...just on the daily commute!!:eek:

naaa that makes no difference.....how many miles have you done Paul? 24K with fooked disks cant be right...dont get me wrong I dont hang about but I dont drive like an idiot.

My EP3 was like that........but with the FN2 and the VSP thingy..coupled with loads of brake dust on the rear wheels leaves me to think that the rear brakes are simply sh.it.

Right....got my car back.......inspected the disks and pads...rear pads were flat...disks were scored but not dangerous. Not even sure thay were from my car...they could have been from the scrap bin . I have been ripped off........nothing more I can say. To add insult I had a letter today...

got no choice at the mo....they have my car.....will get more infor tomorrow....letter going to HUK though..... I have a 5 service plan...so that is already paid for..... will give update tomorrow.

you are telling me. I had a call saying that if I wanted to take it away, I would have to sign a disclaimer and they would charge me double for the labour and they would have to strip it again tomorrow. I am fukking livid:evil:

Bosch Aeroblades are ok...but in all honesty..for the small number of frosty mornings we have, I would buy the OEM Valeo blades from Honda..especially as last time I bougt them they were only 8 quid each. I have Valeo 'BEAM' blades on my FN2...they are pretty good, too big for the EP3 though...

mine has swirled like fook...and my rear wheels are caked with brake dust....not good!!:evil: given up this winter...coming up to 15k now .....goes better that ever..but looks bogging.:lol:

Loads of us have the 3rd gear problem..I am surprised you agreed to have a new box knowing that it is a widespread issue....

Just had my 1st Service...... I have 5 services for 500 quid.:cool: ....but the cost for the 1st should have been 160...and the 2nd is 330 quid:eek: add those 2 together and you get 3 services for a tenner..lol:lol: I took out the service plan 6 months after I bought it..... check with...

a tenner a day just to and from work..= 50 quid a week.... plus all my personal mileage.......at leat 250 probably 300.:rolleyes:

300-350 now that I have a 60 mile trip each day to work... 150-200 when I was working 6 miles from home.

discounts are hard to get...but the price is around 18.5k, you ahould however bw able to blag mats, decals, any cherished plate transfer etc etc.. service plan is also a good one to try and get...it is worth £500 and covers 5 services.. I can't see many dealers budging on the listed price...

Well after nearly 3 years on EP3 and nearly 10 months of FN2, my comparison is this.. FN2 Pros. Comfort Seats Much better dash layout sounds better massive boot much better ICE Climate control Cruise control auto wipers & lights folding mirrors gimmicks are...rev lights...

no one...but it amuses me how EP3 owners often slate the FN2....but FN2 owners NEVER slate the EP3......it is as if EP3 owners have a point to prove. I have had it with defending the FN2 now....it has been done to death on CTRO.

all you people talk about is 'the EP3 is quicker'...you have to look at the whole package not just that one is 1/10th second faster. (in your opinion of course) I loved my EP3....and I would definately have another......I am not knocking either...

yep.....stickey 3 rd gear....as if it needs to engage twice.... mine has been like it from new, only happens when going slowly and even then it is only when I do a 'lazy' change and not a determined throw of the stick,I have got used to it now. I have done over 9k and it is still the same...

personal choice. Some dealers offer this free check, but all they do is check the fluid levels and wipe the car over with an oily rag;) I took my EP3 back for this check, but I did not bother with my FN2. Keep an eye on the oil though over the first 1-2k, as mine used about 1/2 litre but...

I had a 54 EP3...now I have an FN2. I loved the EP3 especially on short blass aroung country roads. But.....I changed jobs so my daily commute is now 30 miles each way. The FN2 is by far a much easier drive. Yes I would highly recommend an 'end of line' ep3, but prices have nose dived...

don't listen to 'starter mototr, light motor etc etc etc'....it is a common thing that happens 'once in a while'...forget about it.

the badge won't make it any quicker..;) :lol: but they are £130...yes...£130...from the stealer (includes side decals as a set..and this is a fitted price) most of us managed to get them thrown in for free.:cool: look around on flea bay.

The standard CD player plays mp3's so you really get an 8CD autochanger for free.;) I normally get 6-10 albums on a CD. Due to the above, I could not justify the cost...but I would have taken one for free.

pishes me off to be honest...you are given a price for the car and then they try and skank you for another 400 quid....:evil: that is 200 quid extra on your insurance per year..;)

yep the seats are a little 'snugger':lol: I found I had to have the back more upright then my EP3.

It is the same as the FN2....'clap hands' wipers move from the centre to the edges...cheaper to make as tooling costs are less for the LHD/RHD variants.;)

I think the opposite....they should have put the FD2 rear on the FN2. I still think the front of the FD2 is sh!te.....

i REALLY, REALLY think the front end on the FD2 looks sh!te.:rolleyes: it is that stupid chrome bit...I am sure a Mugen grille will sort it out though.

I still think the front of the FD2 looks gash..like a vectra or astra.....and inside does not look as good as the FN2. the FN2 looks much better from the front.....the rear on the other hand is gash on the FN2 (as we all know):lol: personally DC5 all the way if I were thinking oF an FD2.

I bought a lap belt and stuck it in the old CTR......I only have 1 kid but on the 'occasional' trip with her 3 mates I am sure their parents would rather them have a belt than none at all. easy to fit...:cool:
