I had this on my 1st FN2, from memory it only affected half the dash. I had to hit the dash on the top and it would fix it. It was so infrequent that I never bothered to investigate any further, before selling the car.

Looked around the new Type-R at Goodwood on Sunday. From Photo's I really liked the aggressive styling, but in the flesh I think the implementation looks cheap. Especially the black plastic trim sections, and the steering wheel is awful.

Its more in your face than what we have seen before in Type-R's. Yes its expensive, but to keep up with the big boys i.e Golf R and Focus RS that was always going to be the case. What I really don't get is how long its taken to be released. I can not see any customers to get one on the road...

I had this in the EP3 but not the FN2. When like Loxy said, the cable had become disconnected. On the EP3, you could remove an access panel in the boot to temporary remove the locking mechanism and open the fuel cap.

Its been a few years since I had an FN2. But IIRC on the LHS of the CD slot is a 'Display' button. If you press that it cycles through the various displays, i.e Track number, Artist, Track name, Album name etc.

I presume you have a FN2? Text is only displayed if you have ripped MP3's onto a CD.

I would agree, I don't get the Audi Styling and find the BMW range rather dull. However BMW have fantastic engines Audi have great DSG Auto's available (although the new BMW 8speed Auto boxes are getting very good reviews) But I really enjoy the drive and feel of the Merc.

The recall is actually just a visual inspection. It takes about 5 seconds, takes longer for them to stamp your chassis number plate to identify the inspection has been informed.

Its even worse on the plastics. On my first FN2 my front spoiler was badly damaged by sea gull crap. On my 2nd one, I had my rear spoiler re-sprayed due to similar damage. No end of machine polishing would remove it, as the acid had burnt all the way through.

Correct, the space saver doesn't go over the front calipers. So if you get a flat on the front, you have to put the spare on the back, and switch the back wheel to the front.

Its the master cylinder. I had the same fault on my 1st FN2 which was replaced under warranty. My current FN2 is starting to exhibit a similar click but only when the weather is really warm.

Had mine done yesterday. They check the loom as per the recall .pdf sheet. Then took a photo of the loom and finally pin punched the VIN plate on the passengers door sill. I presume to prove the inspection had taken place. Total time taken = 45seconds.

A little update, my drivers door finally got sorted to a reasonable standard. It was re-sprayed, but there is a slight orange peel in some areas. I've now removed the swirls they left behind. Took some pics of mine and Dad's car. As he is part ex his Type S for Mazda 3 this weekend.

By a 59 plate it should have the ipod/USB port and HID lights (identified by the headlight washers). The 11 plate may have LSD fitted, I can't remember from what date LSD became standard.

How does it work with you rear belts? When I tried mine the other day they do not lock out when fully extracted, which I thought would allow a child seat to slowly loosen. Where Emma's EP2 the rear belts have a ratchet arrangement, once they have been fully extracted.

Is that with an ISO fix seat? I was rather hoping an ISO fix would be easy to click in. Emma is due next Feb so we have only just started looking at different systems.

There has been a recall regarding rear suspension, when left for long periods you get a groan,creak from the rear suspension for the first 5mins. I had this problem and the recall fixed it. However I wouldn't really call it a knocking noise.

No, there is a converter cable. Although it's a USB port, the connector is different. The converter cable plugs into this port and has a standard USB port the other end.

I have a Parrot fitted to my FN2. Had it fitted my Dalco (ICE Dealer) then transferred between by old and new FN2 by the dealer.

Remember these should not be fitted to OEM Wheels. They are designed for after market wheels.

For the EP3 you do need to buy an adapter box. Below is a post after I fitted mine nearly 6 years ago. I think connects2 still sell this adapter.

What car do you have? EP3: There is a connector which allows you to plug in a 3.5mm jack aux in. So no control over the ipod. Pre 2009 FN2: Honda optional extra kit allows basic control using play lists. Post 2009 FN2: Full control ipod dock as standard.

Or Tegiwa can afford to pay for the same build quality but don't have to pay off the huge R&D costs that GruppeM did.
